Local Bike Paths and Trails

We are often asked, " where can I ride or paddle around here?"  Beside cruising around Marathon to it's beaches, the Seven Mile Bridge, and various restaurants and bars, longer and more nature packed trails extend throughout the keys.  Below are some of them.  Also below is a map of Overseas Highway and where the bike path is on the shoulder of the road and where it is a trail for those who don't wish to travel next to the traffic.


  •  Indian Key (mile marker 78) has park and launch facilities
  • Lower Matecumbe Key to Channel 5 historic bridge (mile marker 72) 5.5 miles 
  • Long Key Trail and Bridge (mile marker 65 to 68.5)
  • Grassy Key Trail (mile marker 54.5 to 58.5)
  • Sombero Beach area
  • Coco Plum Beach area
  • Founders Beach has launch for kayaks
  • Tom's Harbor/Tom's Harbor Cut (mile marker 60.5 to 61.5)
  • Knight's Key Trailhead to Pigeon Key (mile marker 45 to 47)
  • Anne's Beach
  • Fort Zachary Taylor Historic Park
  • Curry Hammock State Park (mile marker 56)
  • Seven Mile Bridge (mile marker 45)
  • Boot Harbor
  • Long Key State Park (mile marker 67.5) three trails
